I do not trust any doctors any more. Which is unfair to some, but finding out the hard way is not a good option. Sort of waiting to see if there is a new stance on mRNA. If not, well, at least we don't have Peter Hotez telling doctors who to harm.
Yup. My experiences - in the last few years - doctors just checking off boxes. One astoundingly unpleasant one - the doctor either did not like me personally, or disliked older people in general, she was theatrically unpleasant. And now it sort of depends on the insurance company. Those who signed up for Direct Contract (called something different now) get all the Medicare money up front and get to keep what they do not spend. What could possibly go wrong. Humana was ecstatic. I have not had one for a couple of years, and am considering just paying for some blood tests myself. At almost 79, I am not on any medications and that seems to annoy doctors, for some reason. No jabs, no pills, for many many years. No Covid or flu jabs. The last exam, two years ago, I was asked what prescriptions I took. I said none. So the nurse said, very slowly and condescendingly - what do you take to keep your blood pressure nice and low? As if I did not understand what a prescription is. I said nothing, I just take deep breaths whenever I am in a stressful situation like this one.
I am 67 and this new doc, too, seemed surprised I took no prescriptions. I have used herbs and homeopathic since I was in my 20s and only go to the doc when I am out of solutions, which is somewhat 3 times in 20 years. Doc does not understand that there are healthy people! Congrats Djean !
Yep. They have no control, and also have no revenue for pharma. Years back, I tried gabapentin for two weeks, for a problem with walking. It gave me severe muscle cramps in my legs, so I told the doctor, and then threw the rest out. The last time I saw a doctor - a couple of years ago - he asked me, at the beginning of the exam, if I was allergic to anything. Yes, morphine. My father, my son, and my sister all had horrible horrible reactions to it. So - simple extrapolation. And then - I said gabapentin, and told him about being able to see my muscles writhing around. He made a note of it. 20 minutes later, wrap-up time, he said he was prescribing gabapentin "because it had helped him as a young man, and hey no one know how it works, it may help". Holy crap. I had just TOLD him I had a bad reaction.
Also, gabapentin interferes with the signals between the nerves and the brain, as I understand it, which is the opposite of my problem. I just left, and did not get the prescription filled. Oh, and I have a kind of bad knee, and he said, at the first visit - hey, you can see a specialist, and we give new knees to 90 year olds. Two weeks later, blood test results, etc., he said hey, hospitals are real iffy places for people your age, you should join the Y to use the pool, and try physical therapy. WTF. I did not ask for a knee replacement in the first place. Obviously, insurance had spoken, and he assumed I would not remember.
I think gabapentin is one of the most prescribed drugs in the US, as are anti-anxiety. I do wonder about the gabapentin being so pervasive.
We just pay the extra $70/mo now. Test, result, oh we found something suspicious, cha-ching! Been down that road in the past and it turns out fine. Blood tests are important, however, and we should have done them, as we are now facing some consequences of not doing so. But I still don't regret it yet...
I think I would tell the doctor, “No. you don’t HAVE to ask those questions. You CHOOSE to comply. There are other options. They may not be easy. And you may have to take a pay cut. But you could at least sleep at night knowing you did what was right for your patients.”
I have noticed the doctors always always try and get me to say I am depressed to some degree, so they can prescribe an anti-depressant. Nope. Also, IMO, anyone who knows even a little about what is going on should be depressed, and the answer is not drugs.
Oh yes! Depression is a BIG one. Lots of drugs they can prescribe. Lots of rights they can take away (2A specifically, but also others).
And those of us who know the truth about the medical system COULD be depressed - but only if our hope is in the medical system. Thankfully, mine is not. My hope is in Jesus Christ. The freedom and joy that comes from Him is secure.
D3 chases away depression. Yes, sunlight if you can get it through the clouds and chemtrails. 🙄 I take Swanson Vitamins' or Doctor's Best 5000 i.u. gels. I take four a day after eating a fat like avocado or dark meat chicken for better absorption. (No toxic level in D3.) By the way sadly, Christianity is ANOTHER deception! 😲 It's NOT the Bible faith but will be "The Mark of the Beast" in Revelation 13:18. Yahshua the Messiah The Son of Yahweh The Creator of EVERYTHING! came to SAVE us all! 😊

ETERNAL LIFE BLESSINGS FOR YAHWEH'S SAINTS! 👨👩👧👦
My body will tell me when I should seek higher care 🤷♂️.
Just like the dentist, I guarantee, I have more fillings than were necessary. They get you in, take X-rays once a year, which I also find unnecessary, and the push for extra work commences.
I’ve cut my own hair for over 30 years, so I figured for what I have observed in bi-annual teeth cleaning, I also am very capable to do myself. Sonicare toothbrush and dental picks 🤷♂️.
My dental hygienist always commented how clean my teeth were, so why waste my time going 🤷♂️, If I feel an issue, I shall make an appointment.
Agree on all, except cutting my own hair. I got something like a porcupine, so I let my friend hair dresser mess with that. Much to his consternation I refuse spray and only allow him to use a bit of gel to keep my cow licks down.
PS. In Belgium, where I originate from, we do not have dental hygienists. When I came here I was astonished to hear that some people have someone else clean their teeth. Over 67 the dentist is free (included in the insurance fee) if you go once a year. So most do that.
My last physical mandated by insurance was over 10 years ago. Refused mammogram, refused pelvic examination and Pap, refused vaccine, refused labs. Told the physician that 'preventive maintenance' is not preventing anything. Took them almost 2 years to clear up the billing for that, because the insurance was supposed to pay for it since the insurance mandated it.
preventive does not exist. Someone I know had a pap smear, you sit there waiting, took 6 weeks to come back, in the meanwhile she got serious pains, immediately had a hysterectomy. Pap smear came back Clear. Asked the ob how this could be. He said, we take a smear on one side. If cancer sits on the other side the smear does not register that. My one and only smear.
Anyone here with thoughts on Medicare? We had signed up for Part B 4 years ago; Aetna no longer offering the program we'd been on. I have until March to make a decision. We really only need major medical for accidents--pay dentist out of pocket, don't go to doctor (but rarely), would be happy to pay for eye exams out of pocket. Don't know if we should go for another round of Part B at all. Any knowledgeable comments valued.
Here in Ga, and probably in the US, if you don't start paying from the get-go, the premium goes up 10% a year, so if you start 10 years after, probably because you really need it, you have to pay higher premiums. Of course, if you have a crystal ball, and don't start at all and save it all, provided you do not get anything serious, you save a lot! I am still wondering, paying for 2 years now, whether I should have taken the risk. Last fall became ill, and been to doc 4 times and soon a 5th time, and one blood work. But that would not have cost me 3600 bucks that I already paid to Medicare.
The murderous Rothschild/Rockefeller Medical system is really a old style Soviet brainwash and murder Racket. Take their potions you may not die soon. But their poisons will deplete your body until you have no vigor, no life force at all. Then you die and while you're dying, they will steal all your money and torture you. If you don't know and trust yourself and you need to go to a so called expert, you don't own your self. And don't ever give them your birth date.
Insurance "pays" for physicals so they are great to get people to come in so more drugs, tests, scans and shots can be "recommended".
I've told my doctor over and over I am never going to have a mammogram, a colonoscopy, flu shot, a bone density scan, or a vaccine and she "has to ask". What a waste of time.
I agree
Faith and trust are lost with the medical community. A shroud of mistrust will hang over the profession for a generation or two.
I do not trust any doctors any more. Which is unfair to some, but finding out the hard way is not a good option. Sort of waiting to see if there is a new stance on mRNA. If not, well, at least we don't have Peter Hotez telling doctors who to harm.
Hopefully longer than that. 'Medical community' anagrams to among others:

I mucolytic madmen
am I my demonic cult
mm I lunatic comedy
I think the problems are systemic!

Sounds like that doc took a little too much gaba himself!

My naturopathic Dr is awesome and never encourages unnecessary tests and Never medications
My now-retired doc asked me a while ago why I was in the clinic and I replied that "I thought once I hit 40 I had to come in..."
Him: "Anything hurt or bleeding?"
Me: "No."
Him: "See ya"
I think I would tell the doctor, “No. you don’t HAVE to ask those questions. You CHOOSE to comply. There are other options. They may not be easy. And you may have to take a pay cut. But you could at least sleep at night knowing you did what was right for your patients.”

So with you on that last. Amen, and thank you dear Lord.

no free dentists here in the USA, prob explains why most residents in nursing homes have no teeth
Huh! Wondered what they were good for! Thanks, Dee, for clarifying.
here, here...a waste of time and money

Which is to say that these labs are probably--unless you feel run-down--unnecessary.
I'm not sure I'm doing the labs, unless it's "required" for the discount. Until it's my time, I don't want to be reminded.

Thanks, Ingrid! This is the sort of thing I’m wondering about, since we’ve been good at saving $$ all 52 years of marriage.
